The Variations in Tracheid Length of Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco Wood in Relation to Cambium Age, Site, and Growth

This study investigated the variations in tracheid length of Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco from three sites Croatia relation to cambium age, within- and between-site differences, growth rate. Tracheids are main structural element P. wood, varying following different patterns that should be precisely determined. After maceration procedure, earlywood (EWTL), latewood (LWTL), annual ring (RTL), width (EWW), (LWW), (ARW) were measured selected rings. The significant effect rings zone interaction for EWTL LWTL, as well rings, trees, RTL, was results conclude on differences between trends LWTL pith toward bark. In addition, correlation analysis investigated, very weak or no association variables detected. research contributes better understanding degree wood uniformity technological perspective, variability factor optimization forest management with favoring overall quality.
